Canadian-American violist, arranger, and composer, Elizabeth Reid is an active performer in the Vermont classical scene, performing with many orchestral and chamber groups, as well as performing solo viola concerts in Canada and in the United States. 

Elizabeth has a strong interest in contemporary music and is always looking to play new works for viola. She welcomes composers to contact her with project ideas.

TURNmusic once again proves to defy genre and stereotypes in classical music. The TURNquartet brings music from our current series collaboration with Matthew Evan Taylor, New Century | New Voices. This series exposes the music of women and minority composers. Composers included on this program are Jessie Montgomery, Coleridge Taylor Perkinson, Shelley Washington, and Caroline Shaw. In addition, we include music by Vermont composers Kyle Saulnier and Dennis Bathory-Kitsz.

IMPETUOSO: Viola and Piano Recital at Melrose United Church

Violist Elizabeth Reid returns to her hometown of Hamilton to perform a recital with pianist Alison Cerutti.

The first half of this concert includes Canadian repertoire, including a new viola sonata composed in 2018 by David Jaeger, and the music of composer Rose Bolton and Marjan Mozetich.

The concert ends with the Rebecca Clarke Sonata for Viola and Piano, one of the most beloved masterpieces of the 20th-century viola literature. This piece is celebrating its centennial in 2019.
